KPA3-255b, Renova Model [Report from building]

Let go to start my building of KPA3 :-)



First impressions: very positive.
- The good material of paper, easy bend, good paint.
- Schemes wholly sufficient, but instruction does not disturb. While has translated on russian only half, on move of assembly think to translate whole.

The Assembly begins with frames.

The Frame - length 34 centimetres that immediately inspires the respect of model.

if you paint the parts , does it mean you will use 'the washing' on them ?
last but not least : are you going to also add the trailer from renova's site? i think it's quite a good idea , especially because you're painting your KRAZ.

aah , almost forgot. are you going to make the wooden parts on the crate from real wood [for instance from ice-cream's sticks ]? or just from paper ?

Since I'm start to build, I, get many questions about how will build wheels. I want to begin to solve the complex part of building and now skip engine and other parts and start building wheels.

Wheels of KRAZ from Renova is most complex part on building!

Building of wheels with protector pictures.

From the first time,I thought that cut (22x12x7=1848) elements is very difficult and .... very boring :-)

During participation in contest Dishmodels http://www.dishmodels.ru/dishow2005 I has take attention to one prizewinner from plascic 1:35, fail wheels, going in kit and made their with zero by itself, method of casting from epoxy (<-? is this correct termin)

I wnat to try it!


Now,

- I'm build the wheel and has done on him one strip an picture protecor, which will serve the master-detail.

- as material for form I stop on...the plasticine. Available, possible quickly create the form, also quickly its remake, rebuild in her master-detail, swabbed by sunflower mask that plasticine not barnacles:

I'm added add old good...the tooth powder, heaven knows what this beside me from the Soviet Union years :-). Also may to add gypsum or other composite.



Preparing mass carefully mix and warm about ~50-60C, otherwise, it very bushy and bad fills the forms. (this cost me three days of experiments)

Well here is, after a certain processing and quick-and-dirty painting, in 2 nights was got something approximately following:

On full building this wheels with cast from epoxy and processing and painting I take 2 evenings.

Now, after 1,5 months of work about wheels, I have present my finish work!!!

I'm add some processing of paper construction make it rounded.
